My Alaska Jewelry

Welcome to Alaska Handmade Jewelry and feel free to browse our Alaskan handmade creations. You will find a variety of gemstones used in our designs. A jewelry creation from Alaska Handmade Jewelry will become a unique accent of jewelry which will become a keepsake.

Having grown up in the Mid-West I never thought that my life would lead me to several other states and end up in Alaska. Alaska life does hold many fascinations.

When living in the Southwest I started pursuing my jewelry designing and making interests. With the help and advice of others more accomplished than me, much was learned.

So, 2010 holds lots of new creations. One that will be coming very soon is Lampwork beads from our Alaska studio. Jim, our artist, has certainly created some beauties and I am sure you will find them fascinating. The more you look at his Lampwork beads, the more you see.

Please, make yourself at home and enjoy your visit. We are happy to answer any questions. Just use the contact us button. Feel free to fill up your shopping cart. Thanks for looking.

I wore one of your necklaces yesterday - the choker with silver, turquoise and garnet. It pulled my outfit together and looked like a million bucks!! Thanks for making it possible. You're the best! Hugs!

The Daily Gem

Sterling silver is a very soft metal. Because of this softness, when silver is used in jewelry it is made harder by blending other metal with it. One of these combinations is the one known as 925 sterling silver. It is a blending mix obtained from 92.5% silver and 7.5% copper. Copper is not always used by craftsmen and it can be replaced by other metals or combinations of materials. This is considered the best choice as copper is cheap and the refining techniques have improved during the last years.
